Evo X FQ400 – More Fucking Quicker!

Evo X FQ400The regular Mitsubishi Evolution X is an already great car. You get a 300 HP engine, all wheel-drive, and a killer 6-speed paddle shifter gear box. But the Evo has a big nasty brother who will slap you around at any given moment. Yes the FQ 400 is a real bad ass. 0-60 MPH comes in an unrealistic 3.8 seconds. That puts this car in the territory reserved for the kings of motor sports; we are talking as fast as any Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, or Audi. Unfortunately on the U.K bastards get this version. Ralliart; the rally tuning arm of Mitsubishi is located in Britain and has produced some of the greatest Evolution masterpieces anywhere.

mivec evo x fq400 engineThe engine in the Evo X is an all new 2.0 Liter MIVEC engine called the 4B11, but the FQ 400 belts out 403-HP and 387lb.-ft of torque. But how did Ralliart extract over 100 more Horsepower from this engine. We that answer is quite simple; Mitsubishi has been building super strong turbo charged engine for over a decade. These engines respond very well to a bit of tuning. The FQ 400 sports a larger turbo, bigger fuel injectors, and upgraded intercooler, a high flow stainless steel exhaust system, and of course a re-mapped ECU.
Carbon Fiber Body Parts

On the outside the FQ400 is set apart from the pack with the addition of some very trick carbon fiber body pieces. The side skirts, rear bumper, front splitter, and rear diffuser are all carbon fiber. There is a wing that makes use of the vortex generator on the roof. The hood also looks quite mean with its menacing vents. A set of bitchen light-weight 18-inch rims wrapped in Toyo Proxes rubber top off the exterior changes.

You also get a lowered suspension, Bilstein Shocks, a couple of differentials, and Alcon brakes. All this for only $80k…..in my dreams!

Sweet car but $80K? That’s a bit much for me.

This car just screams attitude, wow!

I have longed to have the oppertunity to have a go on this model but it has escaped me so many times. My good friend had one, trouble is she stayed in sweden so my oppertunities to play in one were limited.

When I did manage to squeeze in the time to fly over to her country I found out she had crashed it!

Thankfully no injuries were had, except the injury I had to my excitment as it meant I was not able to drive this beast.

The FQ-400 is a monster, the only problem is the amount of fuel it slurps up.

  6. Car News and Reviews Says:

This Mitsubishi makes the perfect platform for an upgrade; it has awd and a good stability just out from the factory; the tuning makes it quicker and even more stable; obviously it has to be driven with a certain amount of responsibility.

I guess this is the best recipe for a sport car, or should I say any car?

Loving this car. I’ve had great experiences with Mitsubishi. Serious performance, but yeah, $80k–ouch!
