The Misubishi Evolution FQ400 – Fucking Quick!
Yes the FQ in FQ400 stands for fucking quick, and the 400 does indeed stand for 400-hp. I love a car company that does not screw around. And Ralliart takes a regular 2005 Evo VIII MR edition and adds some whoop ass into the mix.
Coaxing 400 horsepower out of a 2.0 liter engine is not easy feat, but there are thousands of Mitsubishi owners out there that will attest to the strength of the 4G63 engine. Well the ECU in the EVO is locked by Mitsubishi of Japan. So how did Ralliart tune the engine you may ask? Well first the engine was fortified with tougher forged connecting rods and pistons. The cylinder head was race prepped and bolted to the block via a steel head gasket. A Garrett Turbo provides the boost while a high-performance fuel pump delivers the fuel to the engine. Now back to the tuning of the ECU. With the addition of a new turbo and some more sensors, the stock ECU was maxed out, so Ralliart looked to the worlds most popular stand alone engine management system in the world; MoTeC.
The results of the engine tuning are a spectactular 405-hp and 355lb-ft of torque. Mitsubishi claims that the EVO FQ400 accelerates from 0-60 MOH in a mind spinning 3.5 seconds. Consider for a moment that most Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s and Porsche’s take more than 4 seconds to get to 60 MPH! The six-speed transmission receives a heavy duty clutch to put the power to the pavement.

The suspension also received upgrades from another world tuning great. Bilstein reworked the suspension of the FQ400. The genius all-wheel drive system has a a Super Active Yaw Control, a Active Center Differential, and Sport ABS brakes. Other upgrades include an aluminum roof, aero mirrors, Team Dynamics Wheels, a carbon fiber lip, and FQ badges. So will the US ever see this car? No of course not, this ride is destined for UK showrooms only. This beast does carry a hefty price tag though at over $91k.
