The stock RX-8 is a unique car. It is the only production car that is powered by a Rotary Engine. The compact size of the 1.3 Liter Renesis engine allowed Mazda engineers to mount this engine further back in the chassis which results in a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Although the car is low on horsepower and torque; the handling capabilities make this car a great tool for weekend road racers. Tommy Kaira is a legendary tuning company based in Kyoto, Japan. Originally founded way back in 1968 under a different name; Tommy Kaira signature cars have graced the covers of magazines and been featured in numerous video games for years. But it wasn’t until the late 1980’s that Tommy Kaira begun producing fully tuned signature cars. Their first releases were not Japanese cars at all; they were souped up Mercedes vehicles. Tommy Kaira eventually won contracts with giant manufactures like Nissan and Subaru. And it was these highly sought after tuned version of the Nissan Skyline GTR that made a name in the tuning world for Tommy Kaira. Released to the public at the 2010 Tokyo AutoSalon; the Tommy Kaira R35 GTR Ebbrezza-R was an instant hit.
WALD is known across the world as a supplier of the finest auto rims around. But more recently they have ventured outside the wheel realm and started to create crazy body kits for some of Japan’s most popular cars. And of course no car is more popular than Godzilla himself- the Nissan GTR.
The Lexus IF-F already comes with a powerful 5.0-liter V-8 engine that kicks out an impressive 416 HP and 371 lb-ft. of Torque! But the super freak tuners of Artisan out of Texas had to pimp this ride for SEMA. Lexus employed Fox Marketing to build a one of a kind ride.
As always Japan get the best of everything! But I’m not complaining; I remember when I was so excited for the release of the first USDM 227-hp Scooby. As lease now we have some cool supercars around. The greatest Subaru ever created is the 2007 Impreza WRX STi Spec-C Type RA-R bar none.
