Norris Designs Mitsubishi Evo IX

The team at Norris Designs has a Mitsubishi Evo IX that should be crowned the King of England. This Japanese sedan has no equal in the land of jolly old England. With 950 horsepower and 700lb-ft of torque on tap; the Norris Evolution can run the quarter mile in 9.26 seconds with a top speed 216 MPH. That makes him the fastest in Europe EVO! This car is much more at home on the track than the street. Jun Supra Akira

About a decade ago JUN Auto Mechanic was the talk of the Motoring World with their 1300 Horsepower Toyota Supra named Akira.  This car ended up going 249 Miles per hour at the Bonneville Salt Flats.  An amazing feat that still is a record today.  But JUN has created a bunch of killer cars since then and they can all be easily recongized thanks to the Hyper Lemon Yellow paint job.  Well fast forward to today and that amazing Supra has now been transformed into a full-fleged time attack racer.

Nismo R34 Skyline GTR by JAPO

Since you can't get a Nismo R34 Z-Tune (there are only 20) JAPO Motorsport decided to build their own.  The new R35 GT-R may have the latest tricks but its the R34 Skyline GTR that is the real crown jewel for Nissan.  JAPO MotorSport is headquartered in Essen, Germany and is one of the best tuning companies around. The Nissan NISMO Skyline Skyline R34 GT-R NISMO Z-tune is the ultimate JDM ride and JAPO decided to build an R34 GTR using the same parts.  JAPO bought a very common section 1999 GT-R and converted it to MONSTER Status.  As part of conversion, JAPO used the original Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R NISMO Z-tune modified parts (front skirt, front wheel arch and rear wheel arches) and the unique silver "KY0" paint.  Just so you know there are current only 20 Skyline R34 GT -R NISMO Z-Tune's in the world.

RE Amemiya Mazda RX-7

We are at a time when classic modified cars are still the best looking things out there. And the most gorgeous of the old JDM turbocharged era was the Mazda RX-7. For over 3 generations the FD3S model and last version of the RX-7 has had some great sex appeal. Beside the perfect line on this car, it had a unique power plant in the 13B rotary engine. At only 1.3 liters the rotary engine produced a healthy 255 HP. That kind of power in a light chassis equaled one of the best cars to ever come out of Japan. [Read more...]

Perrin Subaru STi

Perrin is one of the best known tuners for the Subaru WRX and STi cars.  They offer great parts that produce tons of horsepower.  And this sweet 2008 Subaru WRX Sti has practically the full assortment of Perrin Performance Parts installed on it.

The 2.5L Boxer engine gets a completely new GT3071R turbo that is capable of supporting over 400 Horsepower.  The rotated turbo allows for less restriction to the intake path.  The Perrin turbo kit also includes a 2” Up-Pipe and a 3” down-pipe.  Both are made from stainless Steel.  Cooling chores are taken care of by a massive Perrin front mount intercooler.  More fuel is added into the mix thanks to 800cc injectors.  The single tip high flow exhaust looks stock but has a mean growl.  Bringing everything together is a Cobb AccessPORT engine tuner.  The results are 385 horsepower to the wheels and 400 lb-ft of torque.

The handling department is taken care of by H&R Coilovers and Perrin front and rear sway bars complete with end links.  The Perrin STi rolls on Konig Runway 18-inch rims with a black anodized finish. The tires are Advan Neova 255/35/18.  To finish off the look of the car simple digital camo decals were installed all over the exterior of the STi.  The car retains its stock bumpers.

The Perrin Subaru WRX STi was a test bed for 2008 and up performance parts.  But the resulting show car illustrates that with $10k parts and a unique vision, you can have a real attention getter.

Double Duty Mazda RX-8

turbo mazda rx-8The stock RX-8 is a unique car.  It is the only production car that is powered by a Rotary Engine.   The compact size of the 1.3 Liter Renesis engine allowed Mazda engineers to mount this engine further back in the chassis which results in a perfect 50/50 weight distribution.  Although the car is low on horsepower and torque; the handling capabilities make this car a great tool for weekend road racers.  Sunny Lam has gone a bit overboard when modifying his 2004 RX-8 with the best JDM parts around.
